Update of the shooting star in my LR window for Christmas. I added a few more modes. This is run on an Allen Bradley SLC5/05 and controlled by 2 PC's and a Windows10 tablet running AdvancedHMI. Sorry about the focus, but the camera couldn't keep it's focus range on the flashing lights.© none

Updated Christmas tree using 96 sections of lights, run on an Allen Bradley SLC5/03. I updated from a 7 slot rack to a 10 slot rack & added outputs to control the 12 volt power supply, tree-top and the white lights that came on the tree. The colored lights are cut into 12 volt sections & powered by a 12 volt 30 amp power supply (with all lights on it pulls just under 16 amps with the voltage reduced to 11 volts to be gentler on the light bulbs). The PLC is controlled by 2 PC's and a Windows 10 tablet running AdvancedHMI, through a WiFi access point and a Ethernet COM port. I'm hoping t© none

Here's a .AVI version I had created because neither of the MP4 uploads would play. This runs on an Allen Bradley SLC503 that I upgraded from a 7 slot rack to a 10 slot rack & added a 120V output card to control the 12V power supply, tree top and the white lights on the pre-lit tree. It's controlled by 2 PC's and a Windows10 tablet running AdvancedHMI through a Ethernet serial port through a WiFi access point. Unfortunately the camera had a difficult time focusing on the flashing lights, but even though some is out of focus the patterns still show.© none

3 sets I have in my Living Room window for Christmas. Running on an A-B SLC5/05 with 2 racks, and controlled by 2 separate PC's and a Windows 10 tablet all running AdvancedHMI. The 7 element set across the top of the window is also activated for Halloween (with 7 cat lanterns) and Easter (7 Easter eggs). Since this video was made I replaced the star & 2 wreaths across the top with 3 snowmen. The display is programmed with separate start & stop times for November/January and for December. They are programmed to be on from November 22nd through January 3rd.- 2 comments

Wreath I programmed using a Siemens S7-200. I cut a string of lights into 10 sections of 24 volts each to run off the DC power supply & the PLC's DC outputs. The outputs are controlled by a counter that counts up to 87 based on a timer set at 0.42 second pulses. Thsi entire project was completed in less than 2 days after I thought it up, although I have tweaked the program since the video was taken.© none

A re-upload of my Christmas tree, the other video shows an error. Run on an Allen Bradley SLC5/03 PLC with 2 PC's controlling it with AdvancedHMI. The tree has almost 500 lights cut into 12 volt sections and just over 1,000 feet of wire. The PLC has 6 16 output cards for a total of 96 outputs, each card running one section of all strings. It is powered by a 12 volt 30 amp fan cooled power supply, I originally had it run on a 3 amp power supply but as soon as I connected over 1/4 of the lights they began to dim, and then shut off completely when I added over 1/3 of the lights. This is a set of 6 circuit multi-function chase lights I have across the bottom of my Christmas LR window. It is run on an Allen Bradley SLC5/05 with 2 PC's and a Windows 10 tablet running AdvancedHMI. There are 5 modes the display goes through, with a light test mode that can be toggled on by any of the HMI's for testing the lights, especially to make sure they're in the correct order. This is made up of 6) 100 light strings running on 120 volt outputs.© none

Christmas tree wired with 96 sections of lights cut into 12 volt sections. Originally designed for an outdoor flagpole tree of lights. Consists of 16 strings of 6 sections each, using 96 PLC outputs. For the effect of the lights the video was taken before any ornaments were placed on the tree. Each section is controlled by one of 6 - 16 output DC cards on a SLC 5/03 rack. Originally I had it powered by a 12 volt 3 amp power supply. but as I added more sections I found the supply got overloaded with only a quarter of the lights on, so I upgraded to a 30 amp, fan cooled power supply (with all li

Display of my LR window for Halloween. Runs on the same Allen Bradley SLC5/05 as my LR Christmas lights. The run from October 15th until the 31st. The upper strings that change color can have the timer changed by 2 PC's and a Windows 10 tablet running AdvancedHMI. The spider web has 2 spiders that don't show too well unless you get really close. I have a few timers sequenced to make the web flicker to look like what I think the bad electrical service in a haunted castle would do.© none

This is the updated version of the lanterns in my bedroom window. The were from an old Mr. Christmas set. Previously I had them wired together to a single 24 volt output, but had some transistor logic cards that proved to be adequate to control the 4 volt bulbs individually. Each of the 7 lanterns now is controlled by from 7 to 11 timers, with a master timer that strobes them off sequentially every few seconds. This is run on a Allen Bradley SLC5/03 with a network serial port allowing 2 PC's and a Windows 10 tablet to control it, along with the other lights in my bedroom window.© none

Shooting star I have in my LR window. It's run by a Allen Bradley SLC5/05 controlled by 2 PC's and a Windows 10 tablet all running AdvancedHMI. The entire display is made of strings of lights cut into 24 volt sections (the shaft sections have a couple extra bulbs each for geometric reasons and to have the bulbs not full brightness.) The green LED's were added because I had 2 unused PLC outputs on the output card controlling this.© none

What I did for my bedroom window for Christmas. Runs on a Allen-Bradley SLC5/03 with PC and tablet based AdvancedHMI's. Has 4 sets of lights alternating around the window, a set of flickering lanterns on the sill and a Teardrop Chase & Build. All timers and counters that control the circuits are changeable through either HMI. The lights are programmed with start & stop dates and times, also changeable, and am able to force the time on and put in Lamp Test mode that turns all lights on. Since this video was taken the set of lanterns have been rewired & reprogrammed to 7 separate con© none

Set of lanterns originally from a Mr. Christmas set that I had wired together as a set as seen on my Bedroom Christmas Window video. I wired them into 7 individual circuits & changed the PLC output card to a TTL card. Each lantern now flickers individually and after a few seconds they turn off for a about half of a second in order. This is run on a SLC5/03 controlled by 2 PC's running AdvancedHMI through an Ethernet COM port. The card is powered by a 5 volt power supply with the voltage turned down to 3.7 volts (to be gentler on the 4 volt bulbs). The steady on time and the pulse time can
