I've got a question for anyone else that lives in cold climate areas (you southerners need not respond). Does anyone else run projectors outside in the cold climate? And if so, do you leave it out all night or do you bring it in after your nightly show? I live in Nebraska, and I always bring mine in at night which is a pain to have to wait until the show is over each night (and the last car has left) before I go out and bring it in. So just curious if I'm just being over cautious with it. Mine is a Dell 2400MP projector if that matters at all.
This year for my front door foyer displays I am doing a Jack Skellington animated setup. For starters i wanted to utilize two animations currently available- The Jack Skellington head animation from http://www.themightymicroscope.com/windowcreeps/ and the the jack Skellington face from http://singingpumpkins.bigcartel.com/ From the outset, you see the challenges: One is just a face on a white circular background and the other is part of three faces on a black background. Long story short, using a combination of After Effects, movie maker, and couple of other programs the faces are now together in the same size and shape I want. The entire video itself is around 11 min long with multiple songs and themes so it doesn't get too tedious and its scalable- I can use it for a small image like the doll's face or I can contruct a 4ft wide circle and bow tie for jack to be projected on or even against the house or as a window display. I still have to populate the rest of the display as time goes by but by far this was the biggest hurdle Enjoy https://photos.app.goo.gl/Mop3u9Q4DI1KTpp22 Victor
