  • The original Rudolph did not have a red nose. In that day and age, red noses were seen as an indicator of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward didn’t want him to look like a drunkard. To complete the original picture, he was almost named Reginald or Rollo.
  • The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and the red berries the blood he shed.

  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.

Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

    Inauguration of Christmas in San Diego - Venezuela . Giant Christmas mega-tree 25 meters (80 feet), 1900 branches with over 1 million LED lights. 32 musical sequences and 90 minutes show. It includes 24 arches , 4 singing trees, 32 horizontal groups and 16 vertical sectors. Controlled by 18 light -o -rama controller and MP3 Dirctor. The show beginning at 17:30 and stop at 22:00. (Xmas eve and new year eve stop at 01:00). The vistors rates is aprox. 30.000 people every non-working day, and 10.000 the working day. (25 and 31 Dec. aprox. 50.000 peoples visit the light show). more info at [email protected]
